Honoring Neurodiversity Through Sandtray and Play Therapy

Our seasons of robust identity development as humans are moments of intense neurobiological change, which bring a mix of beautiful and painful complexities into lived experiences. Understanding the internal workings of the neurodiverse mind will support sandtray-focused play therapists as they hold compassionate and resonant space for the evolving areas of development, which sometimes appear asymmetrical in terms of traditional therapeutic training.
