WA4PT wants to ensure we are serving you (Washington State) with the best support we can! Our goal is to provide you with as many events we can! We do this by organizing networking opportunities, providing outreach to our communities and by hosting trainings for you right here in Washington State! We also strive to provide you with ongoing and up to date information through our social media pages, our website and monthly (sometimes more) newsletters!

 

In addition to meeting APTs Branch Charter Compliance requirements, we strive to excel in this area to obtain Gold Branch Status. We have achieved this throughout the following years: 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024!

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote the value of play, play therapy, and credentialed play therapists who are located in Washington. We will accomplish our mission by advancing the psycho-social development and mental health of all people through play and play therapy by promoting and supporting those programs, services, and related activities that promote the: (a) understanding and valuing of play and play therapy; (b) effective practice of play therapy through training, research, and support; (c) recognition, incorporation, and preservation of diversity in play therapy; and (d) development and maintenance of a strong professional organization to accomplish these objectives.

Our Purpose

As the Washington State Branch of the Association of Play Therapy, we believe in the use of play therapy as a profound medium for healing and change. Our purpose is to share our passion for play with professionals and the community through education and research. This website will provide you with information about our organization, educational advancement, play therapists in the community and play therapy resources.
