About the Event
What can happen when we step into an imaginary world, create a character, and navigate challenges together? Join us for an experiential introduction to tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) and their potential applications in play therapy with Jeffrey Weist, LICSW, RPT-S™. Participants will engage in a guided tabletop role-playing experience and explore how collaborative storytelling, character development, imaginative problem-solving, and shared narrative can offer opportunities for therapeutic engagement.
Through gameplay and facilitated discussion, we will consider how tabletop role-playing games may support relationship-building, emotional expression, perspective-taking, and exploration of personal strengths within play therapy. This introductory workshop is designed for therapists who are curious about incorporating games and imaginative approaches into their clinical work, whether they are experienced play therapists or new to the therapeutic possibilities of play.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Identify at least three therapeutic processes that may be supported through tabletop role-playing…
