Lunch and Learn: Child-Centered Treatment Planning and Documentation Discussion Group - 1 FREE CE

This lunch-and-learn style training offers child-centered play therapists a reflective and practical space to explore treatment planning and documentation through a CCPT lens. Grounded in trust in the therapeutic process and the child’s innate capacity for growth, the discussion will focus on how observable play themes, relational shifts, and regulation changes can be translated into ethical, developmentally appropriate documentation without compromising fidelity to the model.

Participants will examine common tensions between child-centered values and system demands, practice language shifts that honor the core conditions of change, and deepen confidence in trusting that children naturally move toward self-actualization when provided with safety, attunement, and acceptance. This training is ideal for play therapists seeking to strengthen documentation practices while remaining aligned with CCPT principles.

Learning objectives:

  • Describe how play therapy observations can be translated into indicators of progress toward…

“Play is the child’s symbolic language of self-expression and can reveal (a) what the child has experienced; (b) reactions to what was experienced; (c) feelings about what was experienced; (d) what the child wishes, wants, or needs; and (e) the child’s perception of self.”
